MESSAGE FROM THE DEPARTMENT HEAD

Welcome to the Department of History and Sociology on UBC’s Okanagan campus. Our dynamic and diverse faculty reveal the links between the past and the present, with a focus on social justice and policy development.

The department offers the BA and BA (Hons) in History, and the BA in Sociology. Faculty participate actively in graduate programming, teaching MA and PhD students in three Interdisciplinary Graduate Studies (IGS) themes: Power, Conflict and Ideas (PCI); Urban, Rural and Regional Dynamics (URRD); and Global Studies.

Explore our website, discover the innovative research of history and sociology professors and students, and learn how you can contribute to changing our world.

If you would like to learn more about our programs or campus, please come to visit us in person. I look forward to meeting you.
