Welcome to the Department of History and Sociology on UBC’s Okanagan campus. Our dynamic and diverse faculty reveal the links between the past and the present, with a focus on social justice and policy development.

The department offers the BA and BA (Hons) in History, and the BA in Sociology. Faculty participate actively in graduate programming, teaching MA and PhD students in three Interdisciplinary Graduate Studies (IGS) themes: Power, Conflict and Ideas (PCI);  Urban and Regional Studies (URD); and Global Studies.
